L&R already has direct commercial property investment activities in Germany, South Africa, Ukraine and Panama and are particularly keen to expand in Continental and Central Europe, the Nordic and Baltic Regions.

L&R's property investment activities encompass over twelve countries with local offices in over five countries. Our international operations have been recognised this year by winning the coveted Europaproperty.com awards for Investment in both Russia and Ukraine.

In 2006, we acquired Rondo 1 in prime CBD, Warsaw, Poland. Rondo 1 comprises over 60,000 SqM of prime air conditioned office and retail accommodation within an outstanding 40 storey skyscraper that has been voted "Best Building in Central Eastern Europe".

In July 2007, the Government of Panama, in a process coordinated by the World Bank, selected L&R as the Master Developer for the redevelopment of the former US Howard Air Force Base - one of the largest development deals ever recorded. As the successful bidder, L&R was awarded a long term concession to develop the Site into a major new community with over one million square metres of commercial development, 20,000 homes and over 1,000 hotel rooms.

Our vision for Panama Pacifico is to redevelop this approximately 2,000 hectare property into a vibrant new community with a variety of uses including headquarters facilities, call centers, logistics centers, new homes and apartments, a championship golf course, hotels, retail, hospitals, schools, cinemas and other amenities. This innovative new development will be master-planned with high-quality architecture and extensive amenities, all set within an ecologically-inspiring landscape of lakes, wetlands, mangroves, hills and forests. This development will set a new standard not only for Panama, but also Latin America.

Another oustanding acquisition includes the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront development in the heart of Cape Town's harbour in South Africa. The V&A Waterfront is an internationally renowned 120 hectare Leisure, Retail, Office, Hotel and Marina complex set between Robben Island and Table Mountain and serving over 21m visitors a year.
